US citizens in AZ aren't in another country, or are they?

The illegals are. I've had my ID/Passport checked. It doesn't hurt.

I repeat the question. Do you carry your passport everywhere you go while you are in the US? Another question. Do you think you should be arrested if you forgot it? Kept in custody until it can be proven you are a US citizen?

Then stop trying to tell me what my politics are if you don't care enough to pay attention to them. It just makes you look petty.

I'm not defending Obama on this friggin' topic, you really should have read the thread. I often defend Obama from your paranoid fears of future catastrophes, YOU defended Bush (and still do) for reaL catastrophic failure after catastrophic failure.

    Pot . . . kettle . . . black.

Neither did Bush, nor does any current republican. Failure to deal with immigration is the only bipartisan accomplishment of Washington. At least Obama has tripled border patrols and increased deportations over the pathetic republican efforts.

What a stupid comment you couldn't prove if your life depended on it.

US citizens don't have to prove citizenship, it is legal immigrants that must carry their immigration documents. This has been a federal law for 70 years!

i am not clear on how the government is supposed to determine a person is a citizen and therefore does not have to prove it.

this whole thing is clearly going to result in racist policy (not that i am necessarily opposed to racism). a white canadian will never in a million years be asked to prove anything, but my puerto rican friends will constantly.

i just dont see the point. this whole thing is bull****.

i hate it. it depends on the situation. like at the airport, ok, or when i was randomly asked for ID in the financial district on sept 12 2001, but just goofing around doing nothing, i would be ****ing furious if i were questioned. and furious is putting it mildly. leave me alone.
