    i had no idea which thread to put this in... this or the census thread.

    i must have been living under a rock because i also had no idea that the census counts illegals as part of the population.

    so we count illegals, but in utah, citizens that are temporarily absent (missionaries), are not counted....


    say whaaaaa......

    so we are gonna put on hold what little enforcement of the law there is? gimme a freakin break.

    can you say "fubar", boys and girls? :rolleye33:

    nobody "needs" to do anything. you can just shop at a place that speaks the language you like.

    Talk about naive. This notion allows foreign nationals to exploit laws designed for US citizens. If you demand to rights of citizenship then sometimes you must be prepared to identify yourself as one. It's not a great inconvenience, much less a travesty. Are you prepared to make no sacrifices at all for your country?

    Then why in the world don't you see the parallel? it helps fight terror as well as crime and economic/social turmoil to secure the borders and deport aliens. It's not even profiling to ask for ID if the police are doing their normal lawful business.

    National ID!

    We are the last country on earth not to use the metric system and we'll be the last country not to have national identification. Without it, we cannot hope to secure our borders.

    WTF are you talking about? We are discussing illegal immigration here and you are concerned with my "passion". :insane:

    Here is where you are wrong, the place that I was in was on a firm foundation in the United States, atop a rather large hill in the middle of Kansas. The patrons of said store being 99% english speak then she "needs" to speak enGRish. If she cannot do that she "needs" to leave the PA alone and continue to stock flied lice in the pasta aisle and stfu.

    again, america has no official language and is a free country where people should speak whatever language they want, regardless of what you think.

    of course businesses should try to make things easier for their customers if they like to stay in business. but your PX is government run so they have no reason to care.

    This is the point, not only should they care, they should ensure that their employees are able to communictate effectively <----- (the key word in case you missed it) with the patrons.
