Huge spoiler below Everyone is already infected. It doesn't matter if you die from a bite or if you die from a gunshot, you are coming back. Romero zombie rules at play. I think that is what Jenner whispered to Rick before they left the CDC.
Apocalyptic indeed. That is a series ending prediciton. This series has so many philosophical undertones. Life vs death, choice vs fate, moral nihilism, and uncertainty to begin with. There aren't 2 characters who's reasoning and rationality have come to the same conclusions. Everyone has a different belief and morality and they get put to the test.
Ha, I thought I was the only one that couldn't stand him. Ok, unless you die from an injury that 'kills' your brain, you're going to turn into a walker when you die? Wow, no wonder Rick hasn't told anyone. If that's the case, I still wonder how the cops died, if they had no visible wounds. I thought that maybe since Shane and Rick had their 'come to Jesus' moment, Shane would fall in line, especially since Rick save his a$$ on the school bus, but during the previews for next week,it showed him plotting with Andrea to do something to ensure Rick is no longer the leader. I was thinking along the lines of Peabody - that they were going to do something to intentionally infect him. But what is Shane is already infected via the cut? I know Supa reads the comics, so I think he's probably got an idea of what's going to happen, even though the TV script doesn't exactly follow the comics in all instances.
I just read this on another forum. Don't know if it is true or not. "in an interview the ugy who plays rick said if you turn up the volume real loud from the episode in the CDC you can hear what he tells him" Here it is. Well I don't know. I can't hear it good on my iPad. I'll wait till tomorrow and listen on my computer.
Apparently there are also 5k races with a zombie apocalypse theme. 'Run For Your Lives': 5K puts racers in the middle of a zombie apocalypse – GeekOut - CNN.com Blogs
