Looks like Rick and Shane are finally going to have it out next week! At least, that's what the previews after last night's show lead you to believe.
Best episode of the season. I loved the post apocalyptic zombie world shoot out at the bar. They made it as old western movie style as they could. "They drew on us first", gun shots through windows, breaking glasses, sneak around the back of the salon, and the way Rick holstered his weapon when finished. Very nice touch. Shane is a ticking time bomb. I even get uncomfortable when he is in the room. I like the way the writers made a point of emphasizing that both Shane and Rick will kill the living to save the living. Rick will do it for the group, Shane only for his own interest. Lines are being drawn, the group is splitting into sides, everyone has guns....oh, and zombies are out there.
Last night's episode was one of the best of the season. I did not see Dale. That was an added bonus. Now to the serious stuff..... About last night's episode concerning those two zombie cops and how they had no bites, only scratches. There was definitely some sort of implied thing about the dead zombie cops with no bites. And...Rick killed the first one with his knife. Shane we can only assume killed the second zombie cop with his knife as well. Later, Shane cuts his hand with that very same knife....oh boy Is Shane in danger of becoming a walker?
I don't think the contagion spreads that easily. Rick was bloody as hell after the fight and had three zombies on top of him. T-Dog split his arm open in the premier, and had a body thrown on top of him to hide him from the zonbie herd. I have a feeling where they are going with this, but I won't say any more.
I believe that is either very important or an oversight by the writers, like the lone zombie in the field scene. Shane was looking out at him from his side of the car on both the going and coming back scenes while the car was going in opposite directions. What the hell? Great visual though. The writing has been good ever since the barn scene last November. I feel tense and uncomfortable the whole hour. I haven't felt that uneasy but so drawn to a show since The Shield.
