Good grief . . . I'm kind of a purist with fries. I like chili and I like cheese . . . but chili-cheese fries are a nasty mess.
Hence the expression, "Just when you think Canadians are normal they dump a scoop of curds on your fries."
A delightful mess is a bit more accurate. I have never met a mess of chili cheese fries that I didn't like. Sour cream, chees, bacon bits, put it all on there. YUM!!!
Couldn't agree more, fries are a stand alone food source....no need to mess them all up with sauces, chili's, dressings or any other toppings....besides salt n pepper or Tony Chacheres
There's a place right next to Alan Belcher's gym (UFC Fighter out of Biloxi) that serves NOTHING but french fries fancied up with toppings. Look at some of the pictures of these mf'ers: http://www.belgicans.com/index.html I will probably never eat there. Ever.
I checked out the site briefly. If I lived near there, I'd try a few of those creations and probably dig it. I also like them without all that stuff. I really like them somewhere in between, such as cheese, bacon, scallions, and ranch. I've truly never met a fry I didn't like. Well, maybe the version that the various cafeterias served during my elementary/middle/high school years at school. Now that I think about it, I don't recall using salt/pepper which may have been part of the problem. School cafeteria pizza is also possibly the only pizza I didn't like.
Oh don't get me wrong. I'm not saying I'd never eat there b/c it looks bad. I just don't want to get fat and die.
