I can't resist the Waffle Fries Skillet at Walk-Ons. I can't stand the 5 Guys cajun seasoning. I have to go regular there when I don't at most other places that offer a cajun or seasoned option like Rally's and Popeyes.
I've only been to Five Guys once a few months ago and can't remember the fries. I'll have to check it out again as there seems to one on every corner around Houston. In The Woodlands alone, I think there are about 10 specialty burger places alone now. Off the top of my head, there is Red Robin, Fuddrucker's, Beck's, The Counter, Jerry Built, Coal Burger, Culver's, and Five Guys.
I def agree with the Wing Stop suggestion. They probably are my favorite fries, although they often over salt them. Five guys is def near the top of the fast food list for me. I like how they give you a bunch and throw extra in the bag. That could also be why they might seem to greasy, is if you eat too much of it. Can also be a bit salty at times but they definitely taste fresh. Haven't had BK fries in a while but they used to be my favorite because of the crispiness. I thought In-n-out fries were kinda bland although fresh. Mcdonald's just loads their fries up with salt, which I think is why a lot of people like them. Maybe I just have sensitive taste buds to salt...or everyone else in Louisiana can't taste food without it...
Wing Stop has good fries--mainly because one can buy cheese sauce in which to dip them. Up here in DFW, Mooyah has good fresh-cut fries. The cheese fries at Snuffer's are incredible--but are generally only a couple of times a year sort of treat. I like McDonald's fries, and I don't have any other fast food when I can help it. The Chimes used to have the best cheese fries on earth. In college, they were a midweek staple with a few beers. I went last year, though, and The Chimes was using frozen fries, which is a real shame because their fries used to be awesome.
SmashBurger (West Coast) has an interesting fry. In-n-Out Burger has decent fries....nothing special, but it doesn't matter what their fries taste like b/c the burger is the best on the planet.
again, just like 5 guys, FALSE. In n Out is all hype no substance. The "double secret menu" is all mystique and once you get there its sort of like, mmm okay what was all the hooplah. Good thing to do just so you can say you did it but in the big picture, not really impressive. Mom and Pop shop burgers are the best IMO. Little shack in the woods of Grosse Tete called "Leroys" that will make you a burger and cause you to forget all about flashy chain store camel pattys.
Look, that's where I draw the line. Don't you EVER say nothing bad about In-n-Out Burger again, mf'er.
