Best fries for me is a tie between Five Guys and South of Philly on Sherwood Blvd. They are very different but both are good. Five Guys has a little more consistency in their quality than South of Philly. Once in a while SoP will overcook their fries. Behind these two is: Chick-fil-a McDonald's And then all the others. I do however agree with the OP - I eat them all, just like some better than others!!
If we are expanding to casual dining I like the fries at 1) Burgersmiths 2) South of Philly 3) Brubachers (but I never eat them because the other food is so terrible) 4) Sammy's Bad Fries at 1) George's 2) Niche 3) That place on coursey where Calandar's used to be, but was so terrible I chose to forget the name.
BurgerSmith's fries are great. Five Guys, or at least my local Five Guys are terrible. I go all the time and just get a burger now. They are soggy on the outside and undercooked on the inside.
That is how I find Five Guys fries also. If you are going to do them thick cut, you have to fry them long enough. I find their fries to be undercooked and underdrained.
If you are ever in Franklinton, go to the Franklinton Grill. The sweet potato fries are hands down the best i have had.
Five Guys easily has the greatest fast food fries known to man. I rarely eat fries because I don't need the carbs or the fat, but I will indulge once a month or so of the meaty goodness that is Five Guys Cajun Fries. You can have the rest that just fry their fries to a crisp, leaving nothing but a salty shell with no substance. I love Chik-fil-a's waffle fries, but I decline them and go with two grilled sandwiches instead. 1) Five Guys 2) -empty- 3) -empty- 4) -empty- 5) That other shit you eat
