He's a genius. He'll get even more publicity from this - not that he needs it- and build him even more good public relations.
But, it was genuine initiative, not a publicity stunt. That's what separates him, beyond his athletic ability.
He could give it to a charity to be auctioned by the charity? Not sure him giving it away is a problem, right??
Yeah I know. Maybe him not being able to auction if for charity will open a door for change. Course I guess allowing it would open a door for impropriety if this became commonplace.

Not surprising. Logic & common sense aren't in the NCAA dictionary. I suspect it would be OK for LSU to donate it to the Red Cross and let them auction it.
