Also, did you all know that Nolan Richardson (I think that was his name), although he won National Championships as Arkansas' basketball coach, NEVER HAD ONE PLAYER GRADUATE THE ENTIRE TIME HE WAS AT ARKANSAS. That blows my mind...

They need to change the way these statistics are calculated... if people leave the university in good standing to transfer - that definantly shouldn't count against a university. And also, people leaving early that go pro should be put into a seperate category or something... Most people can't blame them for taking millions of dollars to leave early.

BYU? Never would have guessed. Does this maybe have something to do with kids taking longer than 6 years due to their church missions?

I was not surprised to see Georgia's graduation rate being so high. I once drove around their campus and they kept throwing diplomas into the backseat of my car!

I'd say this is correct. These numbers reflect athletes that started school in 1997. That's two years before Tuberville and three years before Saban arrived at their respective schools. CTTs numbers (and presumably Saban's as well) will be much better once we see only the kids he recruited. For instance, Jason Campbell, Ronnie Brown, and Cadillac Williams have all already graduated. There are several others on the team right now who have already finished as well.

    Nice info Turk!

I believe the time period for what the NCAA just released was for the incoming Frosh class for the 97-98 school year so this would be the class right before Coach Sabans tenure.

I would hope to see these grad rates increase, matter of fact I expect them to increase to the point where we are at the top of the SEC in football grad rates, not at the bottom.

BTW...thats unbelievable about Arkansas basketball. Nolon Richardson is a thug, just like his son who pulled a gun on some high school coach. :dis:
