Am I wrong? Then tell us what is right.

Or do you just think I have no right to an opinion here? Good luck with that.

You aren't paying attention to what I said, which had nothing to do with higher standards. This isn't about them tuning up a prisoner, that's FOXnews spin. Chit happens, no big deal. They would have gotten away clean or with a light reprimand for knocking around some chuckleheads. Only one guy was charged with that anyway.

It's about them lying to the investigators and impeding an investigation. That pisses off JAGs and forces commanders to back off their support.

The issue has nothing to do with being liberal or conservative. It has to do with military policy and procedure. If the captured terrorists are the ones pressing the charges, they don't have a lot to be concerned about. But once a charge is made, procedures have to be followed. If the investigation finds there are no grounds to the charges, then their careers will not suffer in the slightest. I guess having the enemy charge their captives is just an occupational hazard of being one of the good guys. I don't think it is something to get all in an uproar about, although, understandably, the soldiers having to deal with it may have a different attitude.

The real problem here is the use of the word terrorist and assuming guilt.

In our court system you are innocent until proven guilty and with due process.

If our president (past and present) already condemn these men as guilty then why in the F would you then press charges and bring them into the US to use our court system. Obviously their lawyers will claim they can't get a fair trial anywhere in the US when our own GOVT has already claimed them as guilty.

    It's just so freaking stupid.

As for the Navy Seal it's just a charge. I'm sure this happens with just about every incident arresting a terrorist. Like I said before innocent until proven guilty. Nothing happens to him. This is just media sensationalism.
