Went to school with Darnell Lazare and now former Tiger Kentrell Gransbury, was on the team but didn't play against Marcus Spears when he was at Southern Lab, he was a beast, and clearly the force behind their offensive attack.

A buddy of mine played for U High when Clayton was at CLA, and his claim to fame is he caught Clayton from behind and prevented him from scoring a touchdown. He guesses Clayton didn't think anybody could catch him and slowed up quite a bit :hihi:

Best player on that team was James Collins I always thought LSU should have gave him a look. But I think they had few scholarships and D Mitch got it

Earl Gros was from Houma and later played for the Green Bay Packers. He held the ball on kickoffs in the 1960 NFL Championship game against Philadelphia (It was REAL windy).:eek:ldskule:

Brandon Washington played at my rival HS. I believe that he's still a back-up DT for you guys...

Played basketball against Derrick Taylor...he ate my lunch.

Hokie Gajan is from Baker as well as Karl Wilson (DT 1983-87). I shared a locker with Karl in HS. Lionel Turner is from my "new" hometown of Walker. I'm sure there are more...just don't remember.

I played against Stephen Korte last season when he was at Fontainebleau. (I'm at St. Paul's in Covington). He was an animal, couldn't be stopped.

The only people I know who played at LSU who attended my HS were the Maravich's, but they all graduated before I got there.

I currently play baseball with Ryan Schimpf who is an LSU baseball commit.

Other D-1 athletes I've played against:
Troy Giddens (current LSU commit LB)
Jarrod Mitchell (current LSU commit ATH)
    Matt Forte (Tulane RB)
    Rudy Odom (Auburn DL)
Ryan Adams (current LSU baseball commit)

Forgot about Hokie Gajan. My dad went to high school with him. Once again, that's the closest I've gotten to playing a Tiger.

Herb Tyler worked at the same dealership as I did about 5 years ago. He was almost as full of himself as Matt Leinhart.

He shouldn't be full of himself considering he only won one meaningful game in 97 against Florida, he was not even that good.:tigerhead
