I would make an enormous push to advance the research that will allow us to become independent of oil. A massive push like what Kennedy did with the moon launch project. I would then distribute that technology for free to anyone who wants it. You can't rightly commit genocide, but you can eliminate the source of all of their income and force them to either work their asses off or starve. None of this sitting around, collecting oil money crap.
simple...more troops, more planes, and more focus on overthrowing the taliban and staying in afganistan. Once that was done, I would have a rebuilding period where we would not only rebuild but set up the country for future success. Give them money, build up their infrastructure, and fix up there schools from the damage of the civil wars. mainly give them something to be proud about so, if the Taliban types try to take it away, the locals will not be willing to let go. The schools will be filled with pro-american teachers. The biggie is this though. Destroying the drug economy. It brings a lot of money to the country but, you could turn it around, bring in some medicinal companies and next thing you know, Afghanistan could be the world leader in producing medical grade morphine which would be a positive step. So, once the next generation came into power, they would have been rasied in a mostly drug free enviroment and filled with pro-american sentiment.
President Sourdoughman: Where do the civilians live after you bomb their cities into rubble? Wouldn't your pamphlets give ample warning to terrorists so they can hide too? If the USA destroyed a bunch of cities in the middle east, wouldn't terrorist groups have their biggest pledge class ever?
Not that I agree with him, but actually, SD isn't advocating genocide, since he would give them three days to evacuate the cities.
Desert environment + no shelter + no water + no food + no medical supplies + 100 of millions of displaced refugees = genocide. The sick, elderly, and very young would die first. That alone would give you casualties in the millions if you cleared out all of the cities in Iran, Syria, and Pakistan.
They ain't exactly living in downtown Manhatten as it is. Somehow I think a large number would manage to survive.
Which is why I carefully stated: Not that I agree with him Just pointing out I don't think he favors the deaths of everyone in those three countries he referenced.
Actually I think we could spare most houses. We would take down the infrastructure, any road or building of economic or military importance. I am not trying to kill terrorists here I am trying to stall for 20 to 30 years so that terrorists and their families would have no choice but to rebuild otherwise their families wouldn't survive. Nowhere did I say I would starve anyone to death or commit genocide. People are putting words in my mouth. I have said nothing about attacking or drying up rivers, lakes, etc. I don't have a problem with us dropping food to them either. Red and Supers suggestion are faulty and will not work. We are talking about ways here to end terrorism and the schools that breed hate to children, some children actually do kill people. Look at Iran under the ayatollah. Syria is a problem whether they want to get in good with us or not, they sponser terrorism and could be funding behind our backs. You guys have gave ideas of how to combat terrorism and hate but we still will have the same problems including the underground for years to come. By some of your comments the Japanese would be our enemies today because we dropped the bomb, It didn't happen.
