CT, please spend more time with us here in FSA. A fantastic post from top to bottom! And thank you so much for your service to the USA. From a member of a USMC family, Semper Fi!
Obama was made into a rock star with all of the shirts, etc. It was a smart move to get younger voters excited about him because that's the sort of thing that appeals to them. McCain couldn't have possibly appealed to a mass of young voters. I didn't really want to vote for him, either. The Republicans need to find some young, energetic candidates (Bobby Jindal, perhaps?) to excite all of the base of possible voters.
Great post. Like you, I am a conservative Republican (I am assuming you are a Republican, but I could be wrong. After all, the GOP does not have a monopoly on conservatives). I never make politics personal. By that I mean I assume my opponent is a decent, honorable person who wants the best for this country until he or she shows me different. In that regard, I belive Obama deserves a chance to prove himself. This is not to say that I don't have some serious concerns about him because I do. But he ran a great campaign and did everything he needed to to to win. I also believe this nation should be very proud that it put race aside, but I am not convinced it voted on the issues. I believe it voted for style over substance; for youth over experience, but we shall see. Also, no one can ever again call America a racist nation, although I am sure some will.
