That's what it averages out to (i.e., 9-7, 11-5, 10-6). But it's ALWAYS right there. Since 1970, we've had 6-10 season in '88, a .500 season back around 78, a .500 season in 96. Every other season has been a winning season. That's pretty remarkable.

It's generally true that a team wouldn't offer the job unless they knew whether it would be accepted, but Saban might be one of the few exceptions to that rule. If they want Saban bad enough, they would likely have to make the offer anyway, because I think he's the type of person to demand that they do.

Remember the LSU interview with Skip and Mark? Saban ended up interviewing them. That may have pissed a lot of other people off and I give those two credit for seeing it for what it was and not being insulted. Saban is exactly the kind of guy to have his agent demand the Sun and Moon from an NFL team without giving them any indication of what his answer will be beforehand. I think it's part of his legendary meticulous nature. He instructs Sexton to take any offer and squeeze it until it starts ****ting Gold Bricks. Then Sexton takes the offer and it's Gold Bricks to Saban and they talk about it.

Of course, Miami must be genuinely confident. They offered him the Sun and the Moon (and Gold Bricks) so they should be. But, I don't think it's the kind of situation where they KNOW the answer beforehand.
