    More Bushisms...

    LOLÉ

You girls are hilarious, but IÕm compelled to ask yÕall to try to stay on point though without getting your collective panties in a bunch.

The title of this thread is BUSHISMS. Am I the only one who finds our great leader quotable? Certainly you can find something the great communicator has said that is worth quotingÉ

Who can forget his triumphs in international relations such as:

"He [Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi] said I want to make it very clear to you exactly what I intend to do and he talked about non-performing loans, the devaluation issue and regulatory reform and he placed equal emphasis on all three." -George W. Bush, who had meant to say "the deflation issue" rather than "the devaluation issue," and accidentally sent the Japanese Yen tumbling, Tokyo, Feb. 18, 2002 and

"The problem with the French is that they don't have a word for entrepreneur." George W. Bush, discussing the decline of the French economy with British Prime Minister Tony Blair and
"I know what I believe. I will continue to articulate what I believe and what I believe, I believe what I believe is right." George W. Bush, in Rome, July 22, 2001

"It's amazing I won. I was running against peace, prosperity, and incumbency." George W. Bush, June 14, 2001, speaking to Swedish Prime Minister Goran Perrson, unaware that a live television camera was still rolling. and in a moment of zen

"This foreign policy stuff is a little frustrating." George W. Bush, as quoted by the New York Daily New, April 23, 2002

ItÕs interesting that even after I told you that you as a voting American are responsible for your own research on this you still want to be spoon fed everything you read. DonÕt let me or anyone else tell you what to read. Do your OWN research. These quotes are ALL a matter of public record. Once you start looking into the Bush administrationÕs shenanigans you too will find yourself inundated with these embarrassing anecdotes.

Want more? Sure. There are hundreds out there and new ones are being uttered each day. Why do you suppose Laura is the one going around the country right now doing all the interviews. ItÕs because BushÕs ÒhandlersÓ canÕt trust his ability to speak a coherent sentence w/o it being scripted for him, and even then it has to be an e ticket ride for one of his speechwriters to listen to him deliver their thoughts.

OK, hereÕs a couple more that touch on his talents in and knowledge of race relations:

"I mean, there needs to be a wholesale effort against racial profiling, which is illiterate children." George W. Bush, second presidential debate, Oct. 11, 2000

"Do you have blacks, too?" George W. Bush, to Brazilian President Fernando Cardoso, Nov. 8, 2001, as reported in an April 28, 2002, Estado Sao Pauloan column by Fernando Pedreira, a close friend of President Cardoso

I admit that last one is a tweener between international and race relations.

Come on. DoesnÕt anyone else have a favorite quote from our beloved leader?

Why stop at Bush? Look around at the entire Republican Party. Can any objective observer actually say that there is ANY Republican in the Senate or the House who could actually be thought of as well informed or particularly thoughtful on the issues?

I can think of one or two. Chuck Hegel on foreign affairs is an obvious standout. But one would be hard pressed to come up with a Rebublican who is respected by objective observers as particularly knowledgeable on anything.

Look at who the Bushies usually lead with: Pat Roberts, Saxbe Chambliss, and some other dotards.

I don't think this is a coincidence. Think about what one has to espouse to be a Republican. You have to recite, "private business good, government always bad," "Star Wars works," "life begins at conception," "gays will take over your neighborhood if we don't do something," "more defense spending," "Vietnam War was a noble cause, but I had something better to do than serve in it," "Liberals will raise your taxes," "I will control spending," "Global warming is a myth,"
    etc.

It is just rote slogans. People who vote Republican are either rich and don't care anything about anyone else or their country, just themselves, or are right wing ideologues.

These are people who are troubled by complications in issues. They don't want to think too deeply about anything. They always think there is a SIMPLE solution to everything. They are people who think all problems can be traced to one source--most of the time that is the govt.

It is why they are so dangerous. Modern problems are not simple. But simple minds make big mistakes that we all have to live with for years.

Of course they are also mostly angry people. Someone is always getting something that they deserve. None of them are racists, of course, but minorities are getting what they deserve.

It is no coincidence that the Republican Party is a Party with almost no talent in it at the highest levels. Talentless people elect talentless politicians.

    That's The Spirit!

    <You're a douche bag.>

<One more reason Kalifornia needs to fall off into the Pacific.>

Now you're into the spirit of the thing. I am unfamiliar with either of those two Bushisms, but they do sound like something he might say.

Just to be on the safe side though, please post at least a date and preferably an occasion for my own due diligence, OK? Also if you donÕt mind, please place his name behind the quote in order to remove any ambiguity.

HereÕs some more of my favorites that are in the same vein:

"I regret that a private comment I made to the vice presidential candidate made it through the public airways." George W. Bush, on his infamous "major league asshole" remark, Allentown, Pa., Sept. 5, 2000.

"One of the great things about books is sometimes there are some fantastic pictures." George W. Bush, Jan. 3, 2000

"If this were a dictatorship, it would be a heck of a lot easier, so long as I'm the dictator." George W. Bush, Dec. 19, 2000

DonÕtchya just gotta love a guy with such natural comedic talent? IMHO, the really beautiful thing about this guy is that he doesn't even feel like he needs to vomit on foreign dignitaries in order to get attention. Who says he is only following in his pop's footsteps?

Hey, Vincent4Heisman, thanks for entering into the spirit of this thread. Do you have any other favorite Bushisms that youÕd like to contribute?

Funny you should say that, since Frank Sinatra was a staunch
Republican in later life, and raised millions for the Republican party. Elvis Presley, although I'm not certain of his particular party affiliation, was most definitely conservative in his leanings.

Of course, none of this matters. As we all know, playing the saxophone (poorly, mind you) on the Arsenio Hall show is definitely all the qualification a person needs to lead the free world.

Once again you open your cakehole, CB...and once again you show us what a moron you are.

<No, I'd just like to reiterate that you are a douche bag, that's all.>

Frankly, I'm a little disappointed at how this thread, meant to be "inclusive and not devisive," has seemed to alienate one of the more obviously simple minded of our friends.

No matter. I'm certain that someone out there can come up with something, anything at all, that bush has said of a memorable nature.

Maybe a few more of my favorites will jog a memory or two.

How about something that addresses his personal integrity in refusing to use the memory of 9/11 for political means like,

"We need to counter the shockwave of the evildoer by having individual rate cuts accelerated and by thinking about tax rebates." George W. Bush, Oct. 4, 2001

No? How about his admitted pride in his skill at expanding the public lexicon:

"I've coined new words, like, misunderstanding and Hispanically." George W. Bush, speaking at the Radio & Television Correspondents dinner , March 29, 2001

His incredible knowledge of regional colloquialsms:

"There's an old saying in Tennessee, I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee, that says, fool me once, shame on, shame on you. Fool me, you can't get fooled again." ÑNashville, Tenn., Sept. 17, 2002

    His compassion for the poor:

"First, let me make it very clear, poor people aren't necessarily killers. Just because you happen to be not rich doesn't mean you're willing to kill." George W. Bush, Washington, D.C., May 19, 2003

Yes he is a true national treasure...

Surely someone has something that this giant among the world's leadership has said that is at least worthy of sharing with the rest of us? Don't be timid; that's what this thread id for.

<You have no idea how simple minded I am...>

On the contrary, my childish foul mouthed friend.

Any and all who read your posts have a clear picture vividly painted for them just how pathetically simple minded you are, but I digress.

Still nothing of substance that can be attributed to our peerless leader eh?

Is it possible that other than a $200,000,000 campaign chest, there is nothing that any of you can bring to the table to justify this particular simpleton being the president?

What would he say do you suppose?

"I'm also not very analytical. You know I don't spend a lot of time thinking about myself, about why I do things." George W. Bush, aboard Air Force One, June 4, 2003

    Well that was a bust.

He just doesn't seem to be very inarticulate does he? Actually, it's more like he has a chronic inability to focus his mind for longer than a few seconds at a time.

Is that a good trait for a world leader?

I guess that's why they rarely release him in public w/o his handlers.

Still, in his own words he makes it clear that the bond of trust between he and the American people is strong.

"I think the American people, I hope the American, I don't think, let me, I hope the American people trust me." George W. Bush, Washington, D.C., Dec. 18, 2002

Don't he just naturally instill a sense of confidence in you?
    :)

Yes, George W. Bush does instill a great sense of confidence in me
that he will track down and kill the terrorists who would just as soon kill you and your family as they would me and mine. I AlGore had be president he would still be waiting for the approval of the French to bomb Afghanistan.
