    Ok, you asked for it.

The Founding Fathers, the framers of the Constitution, wanted to form a government that did not allow one person to have too much authority or control. While under the rule of the British king they learned that this could be a bad system. Yet government under the Articles of Confederation taught them that there was a need for a strong centralized government.

With this in mind the framers wrote the Constitution to provide for a separation of powers, or three separate branches of government. Each has its own responsibilities and at the same time they work together to make the country run smoothly and to assure that the rights of citizens are not ignored or disallowed. This is done through checks and balances. A branch may use its powers to check the powers of the other two in order to maintain a balance of power among the three branches of government.

"checks and balances" -- Limits imposed on all branches of government by giving each the right to amend acts of the other branches.

It is obvious to anyone who has bothered to look, that the courts are entirely constrained by the laws that are enacted by the legislative branch and laws can be enacted that override previous judicial decisions. We learned this in 8th-grade civics class.

I can't find this "list" of "proof". Just a bunch of unsubstantiated allegations.

Anybody who reads this thread can see that this is just not the truth. I truly believe your thoughts are original, they are just crazy and wrong and no one is backing you up here. You offer no evidence to support your allegations. Then when someone offers a different opinion and has the audacity to support it with independent evidence, you scream that they are "not original" and "attacking" you. That's pretty lame debating, bub. The truth is often not original . . . just true.

Here is the core of the problem. You aren't interested in a discussion of the issues. You aren't interested in any facts that contradict your argument. You just want to complain loudly about all of your demons. Neither CC nor I have said anything about "Planned Parenthood", "lying liberals", or "commies".

You won't discuss the issues, you can't discredit the evidence, so you attack it as unoriginal and label your opponents as commies, crazy libs, and planned parenthood devotees. There is no point in debating with you. Sorry.

You reveal yourself. You clearly haven't read many posts in FSA. Adios. Have a nice day.

    Yep,
Congress has reneged on their duties a long time ago.
This is why they geaux after vulnerable issues such as steroids in baseball.
This is also why you are better off being in a traffic jam in Baton Rouge or Denver
than depending on those blow hards to get anything done.

The House Banking Scandal for instance.
We don't seem to have anyone to check and balance Congress themselves.
How is it when something happens in this country that Congress played a role in
the Congress, they investigate themselves and they almost always come out with no egg on their faces?

Its like they don't do anything wrong but they sure attack the parties involved while
ignoring their role in the event.

Congress has also failed to oversight or look into instances where voters vote on
an issue and pass it then some activist judge somewhere overturns the vote of the
    people.
Congress has also failed to look into the property rights issues that was changed recently by a supposedly Conservative Supreme Court.

No one will ever take a fall in Congress, it will always fall on some other individual outside that building! ;)

Once again you said nothing........you again give a brief and inaccurate history of the Constitution according to Yosemite........which is all incorrect. I know how checks and balances work Foghorn, what I'm talking about is, it ain't working. The parts of the Constitution that deal with the courts is the most vague and short part of the entire document. And Congress and the people, in essense, have no check on the courts.

If you think everything is working then fine, why discuss anything as if you know something. You and CC are the biggest bunch of know nothings on this board..........or say nothings is how I should have it.

CC has watched way too much of the homo on Comedy Central.........that's what I'm calling you from now on....CC stands for Comedy Central and Contained Chaos. There's where he gets his "big" words that are 90% of the time either spelled wrong or used incorrectly.

Now both of you, please put back on your helmets and return to your regularly scheduled cartoon showings.........

You are obviously completely uninterested in making an argument, and you simply cannot handle other peoples points of view. This may not be the right place for you, son. But ramble on with your childish mantra if you must. That won't change the fact that you're in over your head, once again. The beauty of it is that you have no idea how absurd you sound.:hihi:

This from the man who can't make a single keystroke without trying to be condescending. You've beaten that horse to death, time for a new gig because you know it's hypocritical BS.

Oh, you and everybody else knows it's the truth. You'd be a lot more fun to argue with if you didn't feel obligated to try and belittle your opponent in every other sentence. I'm thinking about a spec and a plank right about now...

one time when i was in band there was a drummer who would always bang the drum real loud for no reason, and nobody could hear anything but him and we couldnt get anything done. the horns would play louder to be heard, and so did everyone, until no one could hear anything. so the drummer was very distracting. and the conductor said "hey, stop banging that drum!, we cant hear each other!" and he kept banging and banging. so the conductor asked him to stop again, but he didnt. he finally yelled back: "i cant hear you because i am banging this drum so loud!" and continued to bang away even louder.

    Oh wait, who does this.......?

I don't think of you as an opponent. That would be too kind to real opponents around the world whor eally have something to say. You're more like a snipping Lib who can't really formulate an opinion on anything so they attack.
