I agree StaceyO. And I am tired of seeing articles in the news about how ALL the fans want the backup QB's to play. JR IS the man and he WILL get it done this year. The improvement he has made from last year is evident in the first 2 games of the season, and he hasn't played a full 4 quarters yet!!! This team has NC capabilities so lets just LET 'ER RIP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!LSU! LSU! :geauxtige
We'll see LOADS of JV beacuse no one else can take the hits like he can at this point in the season. He's been very good at holding on to the ball. His role in the team is so much different from seasons past. I was very angry at him for a while, but now I realize what his role is. He is the leader of all 2345634 running backs. Alley isn't @ 100%, Miles has said so. He need more conditioning.
Broussard is not 100% & we aren't holding him back as some sort of sneak attack on Auburn. We're holding him back because he isn't ready. He's fat & out of shape. He & Vincent had the some number of yards on the same amount of carries, and he had a fumble, yet people are still dogging JV & hyping him. Our offense didn't look as crisp in this game as it did in the last, but think that was more of a testament to the better competition. JaMarcus looked good, only one bad play really (the interception), but not all-world IMO. The offense is being conservative because we don't want to expose our entire playbook when we don't have to. We also didn't try the deep ball much to open things up. I think the coaching staff wanted their defense to be as tough as possible to give us a better test. We shouldn't go for it on 4th down when the score is 0-0. Besides, as far as I could tell we scored the touchdown on 3rd down, the refs just didn't agree. Scott will get a few carries against Auburn, Keiland won't (barring injury).
Wow, I must have been watching a different broadcast, ESPN must have sent a differnet feed into Atlanta, which is where I was for this game. We ran the motion play with Holliday for over 30 yards, a few deep passes including the TD to Bowe, we put the fullback in that sideways motion but fool Zona with a quick toss to Early, we ran on obvious passing downs for good yardage and passed on first down, we ran counters, draws, traps, toss sweeps, etc. We threw to every wideout we put in the game, we rolled JR out to the left and right as well as drop backs, we featured every RB on the roster. How the hell was this not a creative game plan and what the hell did we hold back? Also, the Hester catch on the first drive was incomplete as both feet came down together and one was out of bounds.
I agree I don't think that we were as vanilla as some of you are saying. Obviously we should show some new plays next week but I was suprised that we showed the play with Trindon two different times.
WOW. What more can we ask Hester to do? He blocks well. He catches the ball out of the backfield well. Contrary to popular belief, he runs well with decent speed. With the exception of not being a very "flashy" runner, I don't understand the complaints. Come on, tell the truth, it's because he's white aint it?:hihi:
