nothing I can say except I agree with everyone's sentiments and joe dean is bitter and drunk or both. Oh I agree with all but Brodhead. he hired skip and arnsparger.
I have to admit that I did not realize how bad Dean was during his tenure. However, with the passage of time, it is obvious that we would have done much better with a better AD than Dean
Actually, Guilbeau writes for Gannet Newspapers and his column appears in several rags around the state.
I e-mailed Guilbeau before the Cotton Bowl to the effect that 2003 should be exciting since we get Mauck back at quarterback. He responded that he said it would have no effect because Randall will start over Mauck even when he comes back in 2003. This is true. lefire:
Was a very excellent quote had you not added that last prepositional phrase and noun... Bob Brodhead was an AMAZINGLY innovative entity at LSU, and had LSU went ahead with his FARSIGHTED decisions, then just PERHAPS we may actually have arrived at "Saban Era Status" long before the departure of Joe Dean... That guy went up against the BOS and got gored, but also came back fighting for more and came away victorious...He had to deal with the good ole boy network, with NO support system in place. His thoughts and visions for LSU were absolutely VISIONARY... Please provide me with some examples of Brodhead and his poor decisions...I'm waiting to unload on this one...
Hello! Not to mention he hired Bahnsen, and was going to try to fire Dale Brown when he first "swayed off the track" in terms of NCAA rule abiding.
If Brodhead would not ahve coached at LSU we would have been not risen as fast as we have in all sports, facilites, internet, etc. He brought LSU out of the dark ages. As TE said he was amazing with his vision and scared the hell out of the board. If he was a little less paranoid he may even still be at LSU.
I agree with cajdav1's sentiments...But I do want to clarify that Brodhead never actually coached at LSU, per se...He was just the Athletic Director.
