MSU forcing the purple unis?

    If that is true, Spurrier would never allowed us to wear white in 1999. The rule changed so that home teams in the SEC were allowed to wear what they want to wear at home as opposed to what the NCAA says.

    "NCAA rules requiring the visiting team to consent to LSU wearing white at home can hurt them when they host an early season daytime home game, although when LSU faces another Southeastern Conference team, the NCAA rule does not apply, because SEC rules dictate that the home team will be allowed its choice of jersey color in conference game without prior approval of the visiting team."

    Spurrier consented to let LSU wear white in 1999 on the specific condition that Florida would be allowed to wear white the following year. Spurrier granted LSU a favor, which was returned by LSU in Gainsville. Darth Visor wanted his home fans to see their white jerseys for once.

    I wasn't clear... I meant that hopefully it ends the part of the debate centering on tonight's game's jersey colors - the SEC ADs have all pre-agreed to always allow the home team the option to wear white jerseys, so MSU had the decision for this game, and LSU had nothing to say about it.

    I don't mind that part of the debate either. In fact, I am also curious about whether the purple jerseys would look better with the white helmets and white pants, rather than the gold helmets and pants.
