Since we're just killing time until Thursday anyway, does anyone know of a site that would have decent quality pictures of the various uniforms that LSU has worn over the last 2-3 decades? My preference is for the one we normally wear, and I don't like the gold tops when I've seen them - the purple top is much better. What I'm curious about is this... would the white helmet (like someone recently posted an image of), purple top, and white pants (with similar striping as the white helmet) look cool/better than the gold helmet, purple top, and gold pants?
Reminded me of a great C&W song.........give it a sec, it starts 48 into it.
I started watching LSU football in the late 70's early 80's as a child and have always been more of a fan of the purple jerseys. Now, I would like to see what the true gold pants, helmets and strips would look like with the more traditional royal purple jerseys. I really have never been to excited about the green bay yellow pants. But hey, when the season starts and the games begin i really could care less about the whole uni issue. Geaux Tigers!
Today's Advocate confirms that State is wearing white and LSU will be wearing purple. State is actually trying to piss off LSU, who always wears white on TV.
I love the white helmet, and I'd really like to see it with the purple jerseys. And I agree with red, between Henig's "been there, done that" comment about Glenn (expletive) Dorsey and MSU forcing the purple jerseys, State seems intent on pissing us off. Finally, as much I am enjoying reading about potential color combinations, the situtation is ripe for a joke about how all you guys are sounding like a bunch of wimmen...:yelwink2:.
Weird, on the Les Miles Show, Miles said we are wearing White for MSU and Purple for the Tulane game.
I am pretty sure LSU's last lost in a purple jersey was to florida a few weeks after UAB...Coach Steve Superior made us wear the purple ones in 2000 in Gainesville...was there for that one
