The game is on national TV - LSU's traditional white jersey, gold helment and pants would be my choice. We need to look like LSU! . ldskule: ldskule: ldskule:
I wish I could give "red" to everyone that even entertains the idea of changing to the white helmets and gold jerseys ever again. o: Just thinking about choosing the white/gold over the gold/purple makes me feel queasy. I don't think that I can eat breakfast now. Ick. Going away from the purple uniforms is pure insanity. PURPLE JERSEYS RULE!!! It is the color of royalty! It is LSU!!! :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: Boy this is going to be a long week...
Fantastic use of sarcasm. And I'm not being sarcastic. Wow...I don't sense any sarcasm here and thats terrifying. The white helmets look great. Just not as great as the freaking GOLD helmets. Gold jerseys and/or purple pants should be forbidden and stricken from our collective memory. I'm actually thrilled that MSU wants to wear white jerseys. That'll make their blood show up a lot better on TV.
I hate messing with tradition as much as the next Tiger fan. However, defying the other team's wish of "getting in our heads" (this move has nothing to do with heat since it's a night game) or playing in the white helmet once in a blue moon isn't exactly changing tradition. They just go back in storage for another decade and we all get to debate the "white helmet" during that time. This is all speculative anyway, it's just what someone told me.
I think Dinardo was trying to establish a new traditon, where we use special helmets or uni's to for big games, ala ND with their green jerseys, not a bad idea, I guess, but it kind of went with away with Dinardo.
Actually, it would. But it would be the LSU Tigers of the mid-1950s and earlier. The bright yellow-gold came in with the Paul Dietzel era.
White helmets....yuck. White helmets and gold jerseys....<choking back puke>. White helmets, gold jerseys and purple pants....I thought pimping was only legal in Nevada? __________________________ lsutigerbait.blogspot.com
I think we should come out with green helmets, black jerseys, and pink pants just get in their heads.
Here we go again. Look, Dinardo tried to make a bunch of non-traditional changes already. 1. He tried purple pants with white jerseys and gold hats. They sucked and were never used again. 2. He tried white helmets and gold shirts. They sucked. LSU has a 50-year tradition of wearing white home and away and one of the the most recognizable helmets in college football. The purple is no big deal and no jinx, but it is just butt ugly and look slike a SWAC uniform. Way too Mardi Gras. Nick started wearing the purple at home for a game or two to end this jinx business, but I wish it would go away. The reason it hasn't is because the players like the purple, so Les lets them wear it for a game or two. But if you've see what the average LSU football player wears around campus . . . we don't want them designing uniforms, stick to football. Of course, . . . wearing the purple should be our option. If we have a game at night on national TV, we're wearing the white jerseys. If an opponent tries to force us to wear white to gain some kind of imaginary edge, it is not only no edge at all, but it pisses off the Tigers. Kentucky and Florida have both tried this in the past, but they haven't lately.
