I want to be able to listen to my local sports talk radio station, and I want to be able to use it to listen to OU game play by play action as well. I figure an ipod with an FM tuner would meet all my needs. That way I could listen to MP3 music and listen to the football game on game days. Otherwise I would still have to carry around my Sony Sports Walkman. I'm trying to kill two birds with one stone.
Mystikal, if you've got 40 gigs of songs to listen to - IT WILL have been a long time since you've heard that song! :hihi:
Just like mesquite said, get the ones with the foam. I have the same set up and when my headphones go out i just blow the sweat out like blowing out birthday candles (not the other kind of blowing, flamers). I really like my Cali because it has taken a ton of abuse. I used to have a Nike that was made by Philips and I destroyed three of them in 6 months. The Cali has the plastic sleave unlike the Nike to protect against sweat. I am afraid to buy an iPod because I am really rough with my MP3 players.
Thanks TT and martin and Mesquite, I'll definitely try that out. And you're right about the Cali's durability. After it sucked through a battery faster than I thought it would (only 20 minutes into the workout) I pretty much lost my mind and threw it into a wall. That had absolutely no effect on it!!
i also have a nike, but it kinda sucks. i also have a chip that lets me play music/movies through my nintendo ds, but that is too big to run with, i use that for trips and train rides. i dont have a car so i have a lot of sitting-doing-nothing time while in transport. the irivier is pretty much like the ipod except it has a radio tuner. also i think they have a headphone adapter for ipod with a tiny radio on the cable. maybe i made that up.
Griffin had one but cancelled it. See the explanation: Ipod radio accessory cancelled Of course there are some ipod base stations that have FM built in. Iboom I use the FM transmitter attachment for my Ipod and I listen to it almost exclusively through an FM radio anyway. The radio in my truck, my stereo tuner at home, or the Wave Radio in my office. I use an FM walkman for listening to games at Tiger stadium. I guess I just never need FM when walking around in headphones with 480 CD's on my Ipod.
You are misinformed, the Ipod blows away the competition. You get what you pay for. Well, that explains it. Apple has always been two years ahead of its competitors on the technology curve.
My rio had a FM radio on it, but the reception sucked, I couldn't pick up one station. I've had my iPod for a week now, its great, I love it, I also have the monster icarplay thing, which is great also if anyone was wondering.
