We can all speculate and bang out our funny little shots but in the end it comes down to this. The kid made a bad decision and it bit him hard right square in the ass. I have never met JJ or anyone else on the team for that matter but I do know this. You cannot lead anyone, anywhere, anytime without possessing a self discipline trait. Pay attention, I'm not saying he (JJ) doesn't have it, he very well may. I'm saying his brain housing group probably let him down this one time. The trouble is, the good ones, the ones that have the steely eyed look of an assassin, their BHG doesn't let them down. Ever. The best decision is almost NEVER the most popular one and that is why the best leaders always choose the hard right over the easy wrong. In the end I think this all blows over with CLM handling most if not all of it.
Well said Red I knew this was coming and what the right Tiger to start a thread to dog out our young QB that helped us beat Bama last year and win the Cotton Bowl. I guess I am cut from a different cloth but I don't throw those I care about under the bus when things look ugly. Of course we have other QBs on the team and of course our Team will be fine. What about the Tigers that are in harms way right now for having a moment of stupid. They did nothing that almost everyone on this forum in your life have had to deal with. When we got caught up in the emotion of man-hood we either got knocked on our ass like I did needing medical help or did the knocking ! My take on this just shows the lack of class of some of the people that post on this board live with. There are some people here that only live in some type of stupid negative land that allows them to see what they think is truth. I see them as little puter nerds living in their room with dad paying all the bills. They run through postings being the nega police and hate on Les and players they see as not deserving to be on the field. Something like this happens and it's nega party time !!!! JJ is a loser and his loser coach might luck out now and do the right thing by playing Mett. what ever
To be clear, I was not aware there was a 1030 curfew. Just reading that. Wasn't trying to be snappy, was just responding to the sneaking out part. If there was a 1030 pm curfew, then as the QB and leader of this team, he definitely should not have been out and I do have issues with that, too! If he was out like any other college student on a night he was allowed, and as a 20 year old let his emotions, or alcohol, get the best of him and got into a fight.... well, we've all been there. It's the curfew part for me that is pivotal. If he had a curfew, and sneaked out, then that is BS and I agree with you, not the sign of a leader.
I can't believe the anger and yes hate expressed in this thread. TigerCliff is right get a grip and quit speculating. So many seem to be taking a personal hate out focused on JJ. Find some balance people. There are already so many stories and so many are jumping to the conclusion their predjudices lead. I expect Les & the police to determine what happened then we can see who deserves punishment and what the effect is. Wait till that happens. Then say something. GET A GRIP PEOPLE!!!!
Well you would be dead wrong, I do wish him well and really wanted to see him succeed at LSU and in life. However he just made a huge and very very stupid mistake that senior starting QB's should not be making if they have half a brain. A better question would be why do you believe most people don't?
I agree with Red - time to move on with Lee/Mett. If it were just the four players cited, I would have to say those four made a stupid youngster mistake. However, when 15-20 players reportedly broke curew and were all at this bar at some point or another, that says there is a discipline problem endemic to the team as a whole (much like what Les said in his presser).
Not only a discipline problem but a leadership problem as well. That is the killer. geaux curfew following tigers!!!
