Sorry Guys, I didn't mean to talk smack. My true answer is all LA schools. We all would like to have what you guys have in Tiger Stadium every Saturday; although I wouldn't call it "penis-envy." But anyway. Even if we'd lose 1537 years in a row, I'd like to play every year in ALL money sports. I know you guys wouldn't want to stoop that low, but I think it would be healthy. Hell I'd rather get pasted by the Tigers every year, instead of UT or A&M. P.S. I did mean to say "Drunkard." It's a noun meaning someone who habitually drinks.
ULL is to LSU as Southwest Texas State is to the University of Texas. Both are state schools with sizeable enrollments located within 50 miles of two FLAGSHIP state schools.Sorry, but the state capitals are NOT Lafayette and/or San Marcos.
Maybe they could gain much stature and national recognition by changing their name to Texas University at San Marcos, or TUSM, then, get all worked up because nobody refers to them as, simply, TU. Nahhhh.
Actually Sabanfan, Southwest Texas is changing their name to Texas State University-San Marcos. They would like to be referred to as TSU. So, you were right on without even knowing it.
I guess it depends on which school's fans you have more exposure to. I grew up in Lafayette so I would obviously say USL. When I was in high school (early 90's), I worked out in the weight room for athletes one summer at USL. There was a sign that prohibited wearing gear from other schools. The assistant strength coach at the time told me it was because they were upset that so many people wore LSU shirts/hats while working out. The ironic thing to me was that the head football coach, head strength coach, & assistant strength coach all played football for LSU. USL fans also get upset because there are so many Tiger fans in Lafayette. I've always rooted for USL and attended many basketball games at the Cajundome during my life. However, when USL loses it doesn't affect my mood the next day like it does when LSU loses (up to a month for football losses). Anyway, they might as well drop the football program and concentrate on basketball and baseball although I never could understand why there weren't more fans at basketball games when the team was doing well.
