Utah, then LSU, then Ole Miss. At least LSU and Georgia Tech are in the same recruiting solar system. So are Ole Miss and TT. Bama recruited more 4+ star OL in 2006 alone than Utah has on it's entire roster at all positions combined. David and Goliath, baby. Pretty impressive.
I do not think any bowl win can come as close in this category as a tie for Utah over Bama and Ole Miss over Texas Tech. I was, of course, happiest with LSU's win and would put that in the Top Five, but it is a far gap to #3 -- Ole Miss and Utah just floored me.
hate to be this jerk but there and their are not the same. when they have something it is theirs. when that is something it is over there. sorry... too much to drink last night.
Wasn't it impressive to you that they finally won one? Even Knute and the Gipper had to be impressed.:hihi:
I'll add TCU's win over previously unbeaten Boise was pretty nice for them. Throw in the fact that they came within 46 seconds and 2 missed chip shot FG's in the last 5 minutes of beating Utah. I would hope LSU DB coach is already showing Sugar Bowl film on how to make tackles.:geaux:
I say Ole Miss over TT is the biggest upset. Its also a bad sign for the Big 12. It also says Ole Miss can very well challenge anyone in the SEC West next year. Alabama was overrated and had a few breaks go their way BUT they are still rebuilding their team. Alabama is not quite there yet but they are getting there so I'm not totally surprise about their loss. I will say LSU's victory while impressive just states that LSU is back. There is a reason LSU has two crystal balls this decade and the victory over GT proves why.
Was getting ready to say the same thing. As great as Utah did- I think no one expected Ole Piss to MANHANDLE TTech. We knew Utah was dangerous. As for us... we're us. 38-3 is old hat. D Pride before the fall...)
Utah's dominance was so thorough that, when I went out for a couple of hours today, I saw not a single Bama flag waving on any vehicle. I can't recall that ever being the case in the 12-odd years I've lived here. They must really be in shock. I can't wait to get to work Monday. Utah was most impressive with Ole Miss right behind them, then us.:geaux:
I'm still not sure how I feel about the LSU Bowl performance. I mean should I be glad or pissed..... If they can play that good why did we lose five games... ok ok, guess it all boils down to the quarterback thing & having time to prep him for the game... Plus GT wasn't a good passing team thankfully.... Don't let it happen again HAT!!:miles:
