I swear I'm not trying to be rude here, but what was "broke" on the defensive side of the ball, and how does this particular hire "fix" it?
Not having the shadow staff... the staff will breakdown film of all kinds: practice; opponent and our game footage. Improvements can be made everywhere. Also the shadow staff can game plan, set up practice schedule or other activities to free up a coach to recruit. LSU has not had the shadow staff until CEO asked Aleave for it.
