    only 967 to go.

im not sure about that. ankiel is the real deal and may hit 40 bombs. if pooholes can keep his elbow attached this team is the kind larussa does well with.

schumaker is his new eckstein and he has reyes doing great in the new setup role.

if wellemeyer and wainwright hang on til carpenter and mulder come back in june then this team has a shot. its a larussa type team. overachieving no-names as opposed to the bash roid brothers. although ankiel did test positive last year.

carpenter and mulder will be non-factors in 08. Additionally, mulder will be mistaken for an X-Files cast member by 2009. His career is effectively over.

Ankiel will be caught for Roids at some point in the season....again....and will help destroy the rest of the Cards season.....as it did last year.

Cards have a new 4 foot shortstop?

greinke follows up bannister's cgso with a complete game of his own --1 run.

unbelievable considering the mental issues 2 springs ago when he was a top prospect but out of baseball and seeking a sports shrink unable to handle the pressure.

both of these guys are off the charts intelligence-wise and humble fellas making them easy to pull for.

    gotta like this kc team.

Hell of a game. Only watched the 4 or 5 innings, but dude was on. Grudzielkjiianek (sp?) was awful busy at 2nd. Lots of ground balls.

Seriously, these guys need to start losing. Like right now.

I'll be sure to bring this one up in a few months. I'm not saying that they'll finish with the best record in baseball (which they have right now, by the way...) or that they'll even win the Central. But the Cubs may be without Soriano for a while, the Astros were horrible before Roy-O went 0-3 with a 9.00 ERA, The Brewers have Sheets and then quesitons and Braun/Fielder are off to horrid starts, the Reds aren't special and the Pirates are the Pirates. This division is very winnable and if the Cards can hang around until Mulder and Carp come back... this could be fun.

btw... Mulder pitched well today in his first Minor League start and may pitch in AAA next week.

    The Central sucks balls.

The Cubs are the favorites. That tells you all you need to know.
