i certainly wouldnt have picked them with the gambler on the mound and not on boston's opening day with dice-k on the hill. detroit is going to be playing for the wildcard and not simply because they are starting terribly. sheff has a torn tendon in his thumb and will wear a splint for 6 weeks. granderson has a broken finger as well. hand injuries are baddd for hitters. sheff will not be driving in many runs and granderson is having a tough time recovering quickly. polanco's back is hurt and miguel cabrera is hitting a cool .100. throw in their terrible bullpen which cant be fixed and there's serious problems.

westbrook is improved and hafner has regressed so they wont feel bad letting him go unless he turns it around. sabathia was gone as soon as they did what they did above. almost as sure as hanley will be a red sock or a yank. and with the recent signing of their younger talent since the lee signing, id say both cc and pronk will have new teams.
