Rays and Red Sox tied 1-1 going to the 12th This pitching staff have single handedly kept the Rays from totally falling apart these past 2 weeks. They gotta get Crawford and Longoria back soon. Their offense is starting to really suffer from the strain.

this may seal the deal for the AL East title, with the Rays being 3 up in the loss column. I think Longoria should be back probably by Monday.....Upton by next weekend and Crawford hopefully sometime during the last week of the season. Now Percival looks like something is wrong with him again. There bullpen is way deep enough to survive his loss. They proved that tonight.
Astros about to be 3 back of the Brewers if the Phillies can hold on. Astros with best record in baseball since the all-star break. Absurdity I tell ya. Maybe Phil Garner is privately running the team behind closed doors. Roy Oswalt's ERA, which was well over 5 at the break, is now 3.54 and his record is 15-9. Roy Oswalt has now thrown 33 consecutive scoreless innings. Not even an unearned run. The record is 59 2/3 by Oral Hershiser. Roy has 3 more starts to go. He would have to throw 3 more shutouts to get to 60. It's a long shot at best. Although you don't have to do it in the same season, just saying. If the Phillies win 3 of 4 (or even better sweeps the series), it looks like a 3 way race to the finish for that wildcard. The Brewers must still play the Cubs 6 more times and then at Cincy for 3 and at home vs Pitt for 3. Overall not an easy schedule. The Reds have been playing very well lately and gave Milwaukee hell earlier this week.
