happens consistently to the best pitchers in the nl for whatever reason. a game usually gets in a fast rhythm with an ace out there even with a paul maholm type on the opposing mound. and neither team hits. at least thats been my observation.
Speaking of getting ripped off, Greg Maddux must have pitched close to 20 games where he either gave up zero or 1 runs and Cox took him out after 7 or 8 IP, with only a high 70s/low 80s pitch count, only to get a no-decision due to some nimrod like Woehlers blowing the save. Never understood that.
