You don't always want to show your full hand in the first game and with both the kicker and the punter 'new'......
Well, it looks as we may have to find out how hard it will be... cuz its looking bad for the dogs.....
Seriously? Geez I don't even know what to think of that comment. Maybe given your opponent the ball on the 30-35 yd line instead of the 20 is a better way to fire up the D???? Maybe with Cliff Harris out Miles just wasn't intimidated by the Oregon return game??? If somebody breaks one for a TD on us this year I will be pissed...
Auburn looks like a completely different team today. I'm glad we are playing them in Baton Rouge this year.
If your kicker can get some hang time, kicking it to about the 5 has advantages in that you can keep the ball carrier inside the 20--better than the touchback. LSU has been quite successful at this in the Miles tenure, so I'm not surprised he's continuing to try it. Oregon did a pretty good job of returning kicks, though, except for the fumble. If you notice, in the first half Auburn was doing this as well, and consistantly holding State to <10 yd returns. Since they have a kicker who can put it through the goalposts on kickoffs, I suspect that that change is intentional as well. GEAUX TIGERS
WOW, how much fun is it going to be to play a team that potentially lost their previous game by an inch or two... MooU will be hungry!! Not really afraid though, I believe our D will be up to the task!
MSU averaging over 585 yards of offense after 2 games. I can't believe Mullen didn't pass the ball on both 2nd and 3rd downs 10 seconds was enough to run 2 pass plays and a run play on 4th
