in the last 27 games, only 2 offenses have scored more than 14 points on Alabama:

--28 by 2010 Auburn (Cam Newton had 255 yards of total O, ran for 1 TD and threw 3 TDs to three different receivers)

--24 by 2010 LSU (Jefferson had 168 yards of total O and threw for a TD and a Two-Point Conversion, Randle caught for 125 yards, a TD, and a Two-Point Conversion, Ridley ran for 88 yards and a TD, Jasper had 3 FGs)

    Miss State's scores v Bama over the last 4 years: 3, 7, 7, 10
Bama's scores v Miss State over the last 4 years: 24, 30, 31, 32...and this year Bama is averaging 41 points per game (#14 in NCAA)

also, Miss State hasn't faced a team with a good rushing game yet. here's the best rushing attacks they've faced this year, ranked by rushing yards per game and yards per carry:
    #43/#51 -- Middle Tennessee
    #48/#57 -- Tennessee
    #58/#67 -- Troy
    #80/#103 -- Kentucky
    #91/#108 -- South Alabama
    #100/#106 -- Auburn
    NA Jackson State

...and despite not even facing a good rushing attack yet this year, Miss State's defense isn't good against the run:
#48 Rush D (SEC: #7) by yards per game allowed (Bama's O is #20 by rushing yards per game)
#61 Rush D (SEC: #10) by yards per carry allowed (Bama's O is #19 by rushing yards per carry)
#76 Rush D (SEC: #10) by runs of over 10 yards allowed (Bama's O is #17 with most runs over 10 yards)
#76 Rush D (SEC: #11) by rushing first downs allowed (Bama's O is #29 with most rushing first downs)

so not looking good for the Dawgs

I'm well aware of how Starkvegas views their football tradition. We have sent them a few Bama coaches through the annals of time. Oddly, he seems to be a lot more excited about LSU's chances than his own.

Or maybe he just likes our chances. Too bad youre too arogant to understand let alone respect his team as a rival. Stay classy.

Let's get back on topic. TT --- What's your prediction for this week's Alabama / Mississippi St game? What would MS need to do to have any chance to upset Alabama?

I think that MS will play Alabama close for the first half, maybe even have a lead going into the second half, but then MS will be trampled. Ultimately, I look for Alabama to win this one by something like 31 to 17. I'm looking forward to seeing this game as I've only seen bits and pieces of Alabama's games this year.

in all fairness to TUSK, why would any of us get upset at someone telling us LSU was going to beat Bama.

This Mullen Spread has taken to the air waves. Much more balanced with our third QB named Tyler (Russell) this season and even Bumpus is living up to some of his high school hype. They will throw it to the tight ends some and they have a solid back, even though he tips the scales at about 200 lbs. On Defense, they are not as stout as usual in the front seven, but their corners are very good and gives the D more flexibility. But Bama has a big advantage on both offensive and defensive lines. So, much like you, second half attrition will start showing, especially in the run game.

They are balanced, but not enough hombres to survive T-Town. 31-14
