Hopefully Eddie lacy coughs it up a couple of times upon his revisit. He's looked sluggish this year compared to the prior 2 seasons probably nicked up. I'm much more worried about tj yeldon who reminds me of our own #4 Alfred blue. Much more explosive and dynamic so I hope they stick with lacy for the bulk of the carries. The weakness if any looks to be bamas pass blocking. Not so great. If we can pressure gay j from the edges and bust him in the mouth a couple of times early, we have a punchers chance. Their weakness on special teams seems to be kickoffs. Usually end up woefully short. It would be nice to have some good returns and establish field position. But of course that means an efficient offense with few 3 and outs to take advantage. I can't really see that happening. Hard to take advantage of a young secondary when you have no passing game. And makes it doubly hard to run. Their punting looks good and their d is as physical up front as I've seen. Even their secondary lays the wood and play disciplined. But they have rarely been tested. It's where we will have to look for an opening but I'm not sure mett is bright enough to break it down at game speed. I think our success is predicated on his performance but nothing to this point indicates he can be successful. But playing scared in our version of hide the qb is a formula for a loss. Gotta keep their d on their heels and zach is key to that. Time for our mediocre receiving corps to earn their keep. But let's play it out and see what les has in store for the gumps Saturday. At the place where opponents dreams come to die.
Does it really even matter to Bama if they lose to us? They'll still claim this season as a National Championship anyway. They always do.
