    Already answered.

Feed corn, martin. Most of our corn goes to feeding pigs and cattle. They need it every day.

they can make arrangements for their own damn feed. yunno there are other foods besides meat. some people dont eat meat at all!

incorrect. as long as we are a rich nation, we will be able to eat just fine. now i know you and barack are desperate to make us a poor nation, but still.

Without opposable thumbs? How are they going to write, click, or call to place a feed order? Think, martin!

true enough, but for reals, if you have some cattle, you can build your own stupid silo or whatever, and that way you wont have to worry when we get down to a 28 minute supply of corn. or perhaps you could just stop factory farming and let the animals do a crazy thing called "grazing". but then of course they would produce healthier meat and contribute to a sustainable healthy farm and we cant have that.

You still have to buy corn to fill the silo. If you were dependent on Argentine corn and then Argentina goes all Chavez on us and decides to cut off the corn, you are SOL.

Strategic reserves are a valid and valuable resource to have available. We can still get rid of most of the farm subsidies without affecting this. It's not an either/or situation.

the corn in the silo in my theory is the reserve that you claim we so desperately need. why does it matter of the government has the reserve or the individual farmers? cant we expect farmers to manage their own feed requirements?

the average american is 13 pounds heavier and eats 300 more calories a day than he would have 20 years ago. americans eat so much red meat, it would help them tremendously if they started eating like normal humans.

there is no reason we would ever be dependent on chavez or anyone else for feed corn. again, we have states in this country that are insane corn making machines, and still will be, even without subsidy.

if farmers didnbt have corn to feed their animals and instead they had to graze, we would all be far healthier, even if that means we would have far less meat to eat. almost every american eats way too much meat already.

a war where all of our food trading partners hate us or are cut off from isnt possible. if we go to war with guatamala and they wont sell us bananas, we would simply buy more from the dominicans.

this problem that you are protecting us from, it doesnt exist. we have a middle america that loves to pump out corn and wheat and soy like madmen, and still will even without subsidy. we are not about to just quit farming and become dependent on bolivia.

All of the reserve is handled by private agriculture and elevator industries. The government's only concern is that the strategic reserve interests of the nation are insured. Do you believe that the silos are magical and can hold a limitless supply of wheat?

    Uhhh, . . . OK.
