The question concerned supply-side economics. But you are going off on a tangent instead. It's a distraction.
If this is true, then conservative economic policies are founded on the souls of kittens and orphans, preferably minorities. Personally, I prefer sound economic policies over political ones. It's the only reason why George W. Bush could have possibly won two elections. That and the great gay marriage scare of 2004. A good book that discusses the point you're trying to make...
if you are poor, wouldnt you prefer that really rich people exist so that you could work for them? how does the existence of really rich people hurt poor people? it helps them! again, it is the actual status of the poor that matters, not the gap! your premise is that without government help, the poor people will be exploited. the opposite is true. the rich use the government to exploit poor people. the solution is to shrink the scope and power of the government. and stop idiots like obama with his massive money giveaways to the rich. question: under trickle down policy, do the poor get richer or not? oh wait you already answered: what do you hate about steadily rising income for the poor? look, given freedom, people will be allowed to get super rich. they will get way, way richer than other people. and that is not just ok, it is fantastic. the problem is when the government steps in and punishes success or rewards failure. we should be left alone. the existence of a person who is really really rich, richer than everyone else, this shouldnt hurt your feelings. stop caring about the gap. care about helping the poor. and that doesnt mean hurting the rich. a rising tide floats all boats. if everyone on TF were given a thousand dollars to invest, in 10 years, supafan and sabanfan would have acumulated lots of money from their investments. i would have spent mine on beer and trying to impress girls. so the free market sorted it out. we all got what we deserved. there is nothing unfair about it. some people iwll always have lots and lots of money. the gap between them and the morons will always be large. that doesnt mean the system is unfair. stop worrying about the gap between the rich and the poor. start thinking about creating situations where responsibility and work are rewarded, where people have a chance to to earn and lift themselves up, without their tax money taken for huge boondoggles and environmental scares and absurd bailouts.
Everyone can see that you are avoiding the shot-down topic of trickle down economics and trying to change the subject to a rant about the poor. Have at it.
i am not avoiding it. you and i both agree that the lower class makes more money under trickle down economics. see? if the poor made much more than a steady rise, they wouldnt be poor any more. and there will always people that will be poor relative to the rich, even if they doing ok. and again, there are not really poor people in america. it is generally not possible to starve. poor peopl ein america are fat and they have 3 televisions with cable.
I do not agree, obviously. You are just being absurd now. :insane: Thats a steady rise of 5% over 30 years!!! Once again, you IGNORE the clear fact that the poor, the middle class, the upper class, and the merely rich all cluster at the bottom of the scale while the top 1% rocket off the top. Your logic is a shambles. Give up before you embarrass yourself any further.
yes you do, see: poor people are not poor because of their magnificent skills managing money. if they are steadily getting richer as you claim, thats pretty good. there are people, that for whatever reason, are not high flyers. perhaps they just moved to america and do not speak english yet. perhaps they are just happy in a crappy job. perhaps they are idiots. some folks simply are not going to earn lots of money. but their are other folks that are crazy money earners, and they will go off like a house afire earning millions doing all manner of kickass things. this is a constant. the more you try to change it, the more you hurt the poor.
Are you completely daft? IT'S NOT JUST THE POOR that have experience a SLOW steady rise! Its the middle and upper classes, too! The graph showed income, not wealth. And the poorest had a 5% rise in income over 30 years, during which time we have experienced an inflation rate of between 1.5% and 13.5% annually? You do the math. And if the top% skyrocket while the rest of us are flat, then trickle down doesn't work.
