Miles talking to Michigan?

    if CLM values two things above all others--

    1. winning a NC in 07 now that its in sight.

    2. coaching UM

    what would you expect him to say between when Carr retired and the NC game?




    if he came out and said "no comment" all the time that would hurt his chances of winning the NC. so, he signs a contract extension.

    clm knows that UM is an easy job (easier than LSU). what i mean is that there is a good chance that the next coach UM hires will be there 10+yrs--effectively destroying his dream #2 (see above).


    disclaimer---i dont think he's gone. but i wouldnt blame him if he does.

    i think all they talked about was who CLM thinks would be a good coach for
    scUM......lol sorry ive been on the OSU boards.

    ESPN TV just reported that Miles released a statement that yes he did talk w/ UM and that he was just talking to them about potential candidates. He reiterated that he is NOT a candidate.

    The talking heads on the report all said right before CLM's statement that that was probably the case. None of them seemed to believe UM would have much chance of getting him.

    Thanks......I just saw the same thing and I'm tired of hearing about this BS. We have a NC to win!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    So basically the Detroit free press can take their assumptions and shove em'. Along with the "Analysts" at ESPN.

    wwl now reporting that Miles talked to UM as concerned alum not coaching canditate.

    perhaps some big time $$$$ told the ad & prez to get CLM on the phone and try one more time. CLM says no, but adds "have a great day" :milesmic:
