Perhaps Lloyd just can't give up the ghost or UM simply made a calculated PR move hoping it would be seen as a good faith gesture by CLM to restore a somewhat broken relationship. It was obvious to me how hurt CLM was at how things were handled. Big hurts take big gestures.

I'm having trouble thinking of what may have been discussed in the 2 phone calls reported. I think if it were 1 phone call from the AD that many things could be inferred (apology, consultation...), but I can't imagine a scenario where the 2nd phone call from the President would be harmless in nature. Is she also calling to apology or consult with Les? I find that very difficult to believe.

Help me out. In your most optimistic of scenarios what do you suppose the President of the UM had to say to Les Miles in the 2nd phone call that wouldn't have been covered in the 1st call from the AD?

I"m really scared that Michigan is going to land the very coach may beat the Buckeyes next month!:(

It was only one, according to the article. Two Michigan people and Miles.

They said he spoke to both of them, not that there was 2 phone calls. There is this such thing as speakerphone and conference calls.

    No worry.

I believe Miles will honor his fresh contract just signed, and not jump ship, unlike some other coach we all know.

it's not paranoia, it's sabanoia. i feel that way sometimes as well. we got burned pretty bad a few years back. there is fear amongst fans that it will happen again. i choose to take CLM at his word. i want him to stay. if things change in the near future and he goes home to the maize and blue:
    1. i respect him for following his heart and doing what's best for him and his family
    2. we were looking for a coach when we got him, we can look again
    3. it is a situation that we cannot control. i'm sure O'keefe and Bertman have done everything they can to keep him. i'll choose not to stress or freak out over something i have absolutely ZERO say in or control over.

This media thing gets WAYYY outta hand leading up to Jan 7th, CLM holds a press conference 2 hours before the NCG, tells everyone to have a nice effin day, team rallies around coach, end result = :crystal:
