Red, I understand your points, but the question remains why did he talk to UM if the numerous reports are true? I agree with everything you wrote and I believe Les will stay at LSU, but I can't say that with 100% assurity.

We need to 100% focused on beating the Buckeyes and until this story goes away I honestly don't see how we can be.

 

ESPN also reported definitively that Miles accepted the head coaching job at Michigan, two weeks ago. Why would anyone here still care what ESPN's take on this subject is?

 

I am surprised ESPN would say JACK about UM and Les Miles after what happened last time....they are the joke of sports journalism....there is NOTHING else to talk about right now...people gotta get paid doing something over there...I tell you what...ole Coach Miles had me a tad bit scared at his PC before the SEC champ. game...I have a feeling we ain't seen nothing yet!:milesmic:

Who is this "we" you are talking about? Internet forum nerds? I'm fairly certain the players who spend every day with Les aren't all that concerned with the rumor that some unnamed person(s) from the state of Michigan may or may have not spoken with Mr. Miles over the phone.

 

As long as the Michigan job stays open there will be speculation. A person could say fans are insecure then again you can say fans are gullible as well. In today's day and age nothing is written in stone and I've seen many coaches go back on their word because they can. I'm sure ESPN is stretching for anything to prove themselves right, but my only advice to Miles is don't have any contact with Michigan until they get a new coach.

But again I don't agree with calling Miles and idiot or backstabber or anything like that, if Michigan is where his heart is then good but for now the :milesmic: needs to focus on and he and his team need to bring the:crystal: back to Baton Rouge.

 

I simply posted what they said and discredited them at the same time...However, if you think ESPN does not have credibility with High school recruits you are simply kidding yourself. ESPN, like it or not is the leader in sports broadcasting and does cary alot of weight. This is a forum to talk about LSU and they are reporting on LSU and it does effect our program, recruits and even our current players.
Trust me, I think Les has done just about all he can do, I am sick of hearing this stuff reported as well, but THEY chose to bring it up and I go on this forum to see if anyone has any insight to the reports.....period.
Now Les is the topic on ESPN and talk radio again, his fault or not...we now have to deal with it until UM hires another coach.
If UM does'nt have a coach by January 7th then we have big issues, let's just hope they hire someone in the next 2 weeks. If their deal is not done by the 21st, we have a BIG PROBLEM. GEAUX TIGERS!

 

If the quoted excerpt from the article in the Detroit Free Press is false, then all Les has to do is issue a statement through the LSU SID stating the conversation never took place.

Absent that, rumor and speculation will persist.

 

Reminds me of the Elvis fan who had his picture tattooed high on the front of each of her thighs. The tattoo artist, unfortunately was not so skilled. As for Les, after calling that press conference before the Champ game, he'd look like a real bozo with zero credibility if he left now. In other words, sorta like Saban.
