I am ok with cutting him loose. We seem stocked on the d-line, and may be able to pick up high quality at another need position.

I don't think Davis is a bad person, he is young and he made a mistake. He has to learn that mistakes have consequences. Hopefully this will be good for LSU and good for Davis. I wish him the best.

I think Les sends a message to all the high schoolers out there that if you say you are committed, at LSU, that means something. If you go back on your word and try to secretly weasel a visit, you better be serious about going somewhere else. In the internet age, there are no secrets. The eyes always see, the internet reports.

This goes a long way to establishing a business like reputation for Miles. It will serve him well in the long run.

If Peters is close in talent to Davis and Peters is a young man of his word and we offer him, we will be better off. Character counts.

Yup. It is like an engagement turned sour. Better to pull the plug and regroup, than have future complications. Respect Miles for making the call and moving forward.

    L. Davis verbally committed to LSU, then took a 'secret' visit to Alabama last weekend. Miles rule is that if you are committed, you don't visit other schools. If Davis was still shopping, LSU has the right to shop some more also. We could have continued to recruit him (our choice) or moved on down the road. We chose to move on. So Davis no longer has the opportunity to play close to home in front of his states fans, which is a special opportunity.

I dont like losing a potentially good player to $aban, but I think its for the best. So I commend Miles on how he handled a tough situation. Davis basically sold his soul, now he has to pay for it. I can understand if a player wants to play out of state, but why would any Louisiana kid want to play for $aban? I wonder why Davis went through all the trouble of bashing $aban and how he recruited his brother?

Id be much happier with a kid like Peters, if he chooses for a scholarship. l always felt that Peters could be a big sleeper out of the Louisiana DL studs from this years class.

It's called: "immaturity" ...and Luther appears to be stocked full of it.
