I read the story. He didn't say he was definitely staying. He was kinda vague to me. This is just an analogy, but suppose its like his wife and his lover. Lover is hot, times are great. He gets discovered. Looks at the wife, remembers the good times, the kids; decides to go back to the wife. Tells lover good bye, cries, hurt deep down, goes back to wife, always misses lover, but knows he did the right thing... But it could go the other way also. He could have strong emotional ties to Michigan, but realize what he has at LSU is too good to be repeated again. He could see what happened to saban who was on top of the CFB world, and gave it up. Now he's starting over, and the results are unpredictable at this time. Maybe he's thinking stay at LSU, but giving up a lifelong objective is hard to do. I don't know, but staying at LSU is a reasonable thing to do. He's won over the fan base, or the vast majority at least. That counts for something.
Good post. Also wondering how much love he is feeling from the fans. One thing that recently stood out for him is that he remarked after the LA Tech game that he had never had anyone sang happy birthday to him in a football stadium,..something he will always remember. I think he really appreciated that.
I just want you to know I actually laughed out loud when I read that.
If you want a lifer, like joe pa, there has to be something between the fans and the coach, and support from the administration, and an administration of people of integrity. Otherwise, you will just have a series of 4 to 8 year coaching runs. With saban, he's so cold, its not possible for there to be anything between the fans and him. The fans may love him, but he doesn't return it. It's just a job, and about the money to him, so it seems to me.
ok, for those who want to entertain this..... http://media.swagit.com/s/wbrz/The_Advocate_Sports/11192007-19.high.flash8.html

Thanks for the link. Wow, he really was choked up when he talked about the lsu team. The emotion was intense. No wonder players like to play for him.
the Tigerbait story says a lot more. Miles said he has friends from michigan, but he doesn't answer or return any calls he gets from them and that the LSU chancellor called him to assure him that they wanted him back.
