Nickie S. would've had an epic meltdown during Katrina, and I don't think our team would've won many games that year. For that matter, I remember Saban mentioning during 9/11 that he didn't appreciate the distraction it provided (or something to that effect.) This is the same Saban that was too freakin busy making the Dolphins into a bigger loser than ever to even have dinner with the President of the US.

I can imagine Gustav would've been a huge problem again for Saban.

Contrast that with Coach Miles, who took Katrina to be an opportunity to turn boys into men, showing them that community service is important, understanding that some of his players didn't even know where their families were in the aftermath, while others had huge numbers of people holed up in their apartments. Who can forget that Jamarcus Russell was stashing Fats Domino at his crib?

The stuff of legends--that is Miles. He's our coach, and I'm proud of him. And to the OP, I live in Texas, and I don't hear anyone EVER say anything about Miles being an idiot. They are too consumed, frankly, with UT getting screwed beyond belief by their own conference's rules last year and the fact that Stoops hasn't won a BCS game in a decade and that A & M fired a boring coach in Slocum and has sucked worse and worse each year since.

That's a comment that comes almost exclusively from Alabama where I suspect they must be . . . compensating for something.

    Saban who?

Seriously does it matter? We got LM, let's not worry about anything else. We gotta get ready for sat and then florida. Our O lines need to get better fast. Fact is if Saban was here I don't think the team would be any better right now.

I have faith that LM looked at the schedule are our boys are gonna start peaking this weekend and be on our A game against Florida...

sooner fans HATE miles. worse that anyone i think. i was in miami for the NC lat year and was wearing LSU stuff and almost every OU fan the first thing out of their mouth is how much they hated our coach.

it was eye opening even with knowing he beat them twice, i still found it surprising.

Either one is fine by me. Saban turned LSU Football into an elite power, and Miles has kept us there.

LOL. Miles having a lover at LSU blowing.

Get serious dude, Miles is like any other football coach. He cares about his players, but he cares about the money more. Only a rose-colored glasses fool believes otherwise. Yeah, he looked pissed at the State game, I would be too if I had visions of $4 Million per melting away.:eek:ldskule:
