thats the game i cannot forgive. even worse than the cap 1 bowl. or ULM. although i figured they would lose. their NC dreams were crushed and that ended up looking like the independence bowl to them. but they were skull****ed so bad in that game it left a bad taste in the mouth of every team in the sec. unforgivable.
Perspective. The whole point of athletics is they are a representation of the school. Let's face it, the head football coach is a far more visible figure head than even the university chancellor. Given that, do I want a known sleaze bag out there representing my school? Or someone that has consistantly displayed honor, honesty, and forthrightness? I'll take Miles by a mile as long as the product on the field isn't an embarrassment. Miles has never fielded an embarrassing team. Not by a long shot.
your answer is yes. dont be so delusional to think gumps think and speak for us. or at least me. being in ok and seeing what they did to the programs here, my answer is a resounding no. supposition. again, YOUR supposition. and my answer to the original question is miles. for many of the reasons already stated.
So I'm reading Les Miles is "meathead who can't control his emotion" from you--and then I read all these other posts from people who says that Les Miles is not emotional enough, that he doesn't blow a gasket and scream at everybody within yelling distance of him on the sideline like Saban used to do at LSU. You do realize that Saban is the coach at Bama now, right? He's not coming back to LSU. Get over it. If you have a personal problem with Les, that sucks to be you. If Urban Meyer was our coach, I'd probably have a personal problem with him (I just don't like the guy), and that would suck to be me. As for Miles at Oklahoma State, go look up their records. They had 10 straight years of losing seasons before Les became head coach and then Les turned them around into a winning program. Saban has never done anything that impressive. And yeah, Miles didn't just beat Stoops once, he was 2-2 against him, remember? Yeah, one of those wins Stoops got over Les was a blow-out, but the other one was close (38-35).
Go look up Jimmy Johnson's record at Oklahoma State and compare it to Les' record at the same program. Jimmy Johnson was not able to do as good as Les.
You can be emotional without blowing a gasket. Miles is very emotional, it shows when he talks about his team. You can see his genuine love for his players. You can see his lover for LSU. Blowing a gasket and screaming at someone doesnt necessarily to emotion. Miles isnt the blow up type like Saban was. Both can and have worked. The thing is that Miles hasnt made much improvements on the team since mid way through last year. We stepped up big time in the Peach Bowl but since then I dont really see any improvements from game one to game four this season. I dont see any progressions on O. I think Miles has the love for LSU but his love might be blinding him. I just dont see the bravado in Miles that he had before. The fire is missing.
Ok, you have a girlfriend, we will call her Girl A, who is great, the sex is great, and when you go out with her on the town, everyone stops and looks at her, she is fine as hell. However she treats you like garbage, you are nothing but a piece of crap to her, who she is using to get to the next level, to befriend some of your friends, and make contacts, so when the time is right, she leaves you for greener pastures, and eventually ends up with your worst enemy. then a girl comes along, who looks good, and is fun, she loves you, and treats you right, the sex is good, and she makes you happy. She brings the occasional drama sometimes, and keeps life very interesting, most importantly, she loves you to death, and would kill for you. Sometimes bad times come but you always seem to work it out, and she is willing to give you what you want, and work it out. Would you get back together with Girl A?
