granted, but look who we played! Against "good" competition and Ole Miss, the offense has struggled. This poll has merit. Even the loses and near loss at UT SHOULD have been blowouts because LSU has the talent. Now if we didn't have the talent, I would understand. Don't get me wrong, if we end up 10-2 that will be awesome. Hell, 10 yrs ago we would all be in tears if we would have had a 10 win season. But times have changed, LSU IS A NATIONAL POWER AGAIN! I can't speak for anyone else, but we shouldn't have to wait another 45 yrs to get our next NC.
It is easy to say that, but you rarely see true freshmen RBs as full time contributors that early in the season. There are reasons that coaches don't like to play freshmen. One, they don't know the whole playbook. Two, they are prone to mistakes - especially in hostile environments. And Three, to develop most athletes into great players you have to build up their confidence over time. Putting a true freshmen in a position to fail (which is quite likely with our OLine) very well may hinder their future ability to contribute. Of course there are lots of examples where this is not the case, but it is a generally accepted idea among coaches & I happen to agree. To what day? They have called plays for him to run the ball consistently only ONE game since early in the season - and that was his last game in Tiger Stadium as a senior.
someone gave me neg rep for this statement??? and didn't leave their name of course. what a nutless wonder!!!!
Miles didn't get out-coached. By all accounts, Ole Miss had that game won but it was Coach O that was out-coached....Anytime you give up 2 TD's in 8 minutes, you just got out-coached. And...ugh...I guess by your accounts, Tubby was out-coached by Coach O earlier this seaon because Auburn had to fight back to win late in their game.
'Zona takes USC to the wire and then beats a top 10-ranked Cal team.... Kentucky, for ALL their jokes, is going to a bowl game this year...
I'm surprised an OT win against Ole Miss has everyone so confident in our juggernaut of an offense, to the point it's sacrilege to consider anything other than "leading the SEC" regardless of how the yards/points are amassed.
Lackluster indeed! Looking at these stats.... How the hell did Ole'Miss give us such a game. Stats don't mean anything. Any SEC team can beat another on any given night.
The national rank speaks volumes about the value of comparing LSU to the hapless offenses of the SEC. Especially consider that most of the traditional powerhouse teams are struggling with young QBs.
