whoa, i'm sorry. i guess i was wrong about the following. 1) that we only scored 13 pts combined in our two losses. 2) that the majority of people on this board would like to see the weapons that we have on offense utilized better. 3) that we let JV play three qtrs of football against ole miss, when we have better options on the bench. and so on and so on. Did anyone else notice that we didn't start our comeback in the ole miss game until we opened up the offense. what i'm trying to determine is if most fans think we are too conservative on offense, which coach is making us that way. i thought it was miles but by the score, i can see no one really knows.
i'm sorry, no need to get personal. it was just the general feeling i was getting from the board. i wanted to know where everyone stood. if you think nothing's wrong with the offense, then more power to ya!
As I've stated several times already, there are 4, maybe 5 haters here. They just post their complaints a lot. As you have discovered, most of us think complaining about a team with 20 wins and 4 losses over 2 years is pretty lame. I didn't vote. You need a "Neither" selection. Re-do your poll without forcing us to answer to "Do you still beat your wife?" and you'll get a truer picture and less sniping.
I think it's a fair question. The offense has been great in most of the wins (since they were generally blowouts) and a remarkable disappointment in the losses or close games. Posing the question does not imply that it's always bad (see #1 ranking the SEC), though that can be misleading considering the state of most of the perennial powerhouse offenses.
point taken. i guess if you don't know where i'm coming from, you could take this as a negative thread from me and not a sampling of those who cringe when they see the stack offense or conservative plays called. but if we're the #1 offense in the conference and the #1 defense in the nation, then it stands to reason that something's a little off if we're not playing for our conference championship. that's all. i'm no hater. i've backed JR to numerous people i know that want to see flynn b/c of one bowl game he had a month to prepare for. basically for me it comes down to putting our players on offense in the best position to win (which they are very capable of). I don't feel they are put in that position 100% of the time. i suspect there are people that feel the same and i want to know their reasoning. that said, i'll work on that "neither" button.
I don't understand this poll. Statistically, LSU is atop the SEC in total offense. I believe the perception that our offense is "lackluster" is due to the lackluster support and knowledge of those that just wish to complain. To date: LSU is 1st in scoring offense in the SEC LSU is 2nd in RUSHING offense in the SEC LSU is 3rd in PASSING offense in the SEC If that's rankings for "lackluster" performances, then I guess I'm content with lackluster offenses.
i'm not a complainer. are you saying that you saw no difference in the offensive philosphy at certain points this season????????????????????????????? maybe the poll was worded incorrectly (in fact strike the maybe) for that i apologize. i don't know how to change it.
