What happened to the sports psychologist??? Are they still using one? They surely need that to keep the players mindset straight and focussed. Too many brain fart plays in that Florida game that killed the outcome. ________ THE CIGAR BOSS
This team is going to have to learn how to come back from adversity in a hostile environment. That is why we lost he game.
BS Other than LSU against Florida last year how many teams have lost the ball 5 times and still won the game against tough competition? Few and far I'd say. To come back from adversity you have to quit kicking yourself in the nuts or you'll never get off the ground. Take away the goal line fumble we are in the drivers seat and the last 2 interceptions never happen. I never saw the team give up...disoriented maybe but they played til the end.
I just don't see this point about Saban. We were blasted several times during his tenure (AU and Alabama '02 and UGA '04 off the top of my head). We absolutely weren't in the game any better those times. In fact, I was at the Cotton Bowl 1/1/03 and saw us put in one really good HALF against Texas, then we folded. Against Florida in '03, we never really seemed to have shown up for that game. I'm pleased with Saban having been our coach, but this is not a fair comparison because all teams show up flat sometimes. I don't put that on Miles. For what it's worth, my dad was a football coach for 30 years, and believe me, there were games when his teams just weren't mentally in the game--for whatever reason. And from that close of a range (living with the coach), it was incredibly frustrating.
JR put together a nice drive in the closing minutes. He threw a precise strike that Bowe couldn't hold onto, and it ended up in an interception. The defense then forced a three and out. JR then put the ball in Bowe's hands in the endzone, but Bowe again couldn't reel it in. Admitedly this pass was a bit off, but Bowe still got both hands on it, and should have made the catch. I saw no quit in the team on Saturday.
