When he roasts the Pigs and claws the Dogs, he'll have the best first year record of any coach in LSU history! Outstanding job, IMO!

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Hawker45 again.

You would probably feel a whole lot worse if it had been the Auburn overtime game or Alabama overtime game where one of those teams would have walked away with the inside track to winning the SEC West.

Not fair statement, he gets an extra game from what Archer and Charlie Mac.
Of course Archer lost his bowl game, so Miles can definitely pass him on that, and Charlie Mac tied Rice. Best winning pecentage is a much better way of saying it.

The thing that bothers me most is our lack of offensive production. This isn't something new, I often bemoaned Saban for his lack of offensive production and actually felt that with Saban we would rarely have a game changing offense. I don't know how to feel with Miles about that yet. I do have hope.

I still question Miles' football intelligence. Not that he hasn't done well and won some big games but that he hasn't unquestionably proven he can outcoach a solid opponent. Winning big games in overtime is an accomplishment, but we haven't played anyone with more talent all year. I'm not even sure any of our opponents have had equal talent. Against teams with comparable talent, have we shown the ability to distance ourselves from the opponent? That I question his ability doesn't mean that I don't think he has it. I just think the jury is still out. I don't wish we still had Saban, I feel he has done well by LSU and chose to bow out. This is the post-Saban era. If this were the 80s, you would all be singing the praises of Mike Archer. Grounding yourself in reality isn't such a bad thing. I don't know if most of you realize the SEC is worse this year than it has been in quite a while.

His public speaking doesn't make me feel any better and probably does add to the doubt I have about his football intelligence. I'm not the best public speaker, but I feel like I am reasonably intelligent, so I'm not damning him for it. Some of you may want to take a jab at my intelligence, which would be very intelligent of you.

SabanFan, please spare me the "What's so special about how you feel because you aren't a blind homer like myself" spiel. If there are weaknesses, is it a fan's job to gloss over them? There may be more than one way to be a fan, and you and I aren't the same variety, which is plainly obvious.

Miles' record at Oklahoma State gives me hope. His success this year, to date, gives me hope. The possible return of offense to our program gives me hope. I feel kind of optimistic right now, if you can't tell.

PS - I drive my girlfriend crazy because I over analyze things and I focus on how to do things better more than how good things are at the moment. It's something I need to think about and maybe change a bit.

It's the arrogance, son. Who really gives a flying **** whether you are satisfied or not. We played 10 games and won 9, with one OT loss under extremely adverse circumstances. If you are not happy with some phases, I can't really imagine that would keep anyone awake at night. Except you of course.
