I lost some respect for Mullen for doing the same thing in the LSU game. I mean yeah you're mad, but damn, let it go. He must have gone on a rampage for 5 minutes at one point.
I hear you. I don't comprehend the "hatred" for a competitor who has the very same goal. I don't think I'll EVER comprehend it. I think I'd prefer to train with Saban but play for Miles (much less arse chewin' thus easier for me when working so hard that mistakes are made). To each his/her own. I admire Saban and any true college football enthusiast does, too. I just wish he didn't leave... I like Les, too. Just differently.
I suspect this has to do with the positions they played. O-linemen like Miles have to be disciplined in movement and assignment every play, and really don't show emotion except on TDs. Defenders, especially backs like Muschamp and Saban are always moving, always trying to deliver the big hit. I would think that doing that for the first 15 years of your football life has to affect your personality. Not that either is better, just different. GEAUX TIGERS
I don't hate Saban but I'm glad he went to swim with the fishes. Lost some respect for the man the way he handled himself in Miami. Two years and a cloud of dust is something I expect from Bobby hog. I don't think Saban could have handled the chaos after the storm near as well as Miles did. He's just wound to tight to deal with the entire out of control stuff. I like the way Miles runs his team. I like the way his players never quit. I loved how when some were asking last year if 'Miles had lost the team' the players spoke out and showed it was a silly question. I enjoy Miles eccentricities and love his interviews. He doesn’t speak in the canned responses so over used by most coaches in college football, including Saban. I love that the state with the most interesting people in America, has a coach to match. And if you haven’t figured it out yet, he’s one hell of a coach. Going 4 - 4 against the two most recently anointed Football Gods’, Saban and Meyer is not easy. And he maintains an even keel so he won’t burn out and retreat from the game like Meyer had to do. And he is loyal, a trait Saban would have trouble proving he possesses in abundance.
