Re: Michigan fans wishful thinking about Les Miles...

Hey - wait a minute! If CLM goes to Michigan, then maybe we can coax Lou "Not an Upset" Holtz from retirement! Then we can get some of that "equalizing" spread offense that he says can't be stopped.

Miles has a $500,000 buyout clause no matter where he goes.

    Thanks red.

On the "Money" thing, Miles stands a very big chance of becoming a VERY wealthy man if this season plays out like it has the potential to. He looks to max out his allocation in incentives this year.

I thought he had a buyout if he left for any school, but it was larger if he left for Michigan.

That was a year one provision (1.5 million if he left for Michigan), but it was dropped last season. Incidentally. Miles now makes $1.6 million plus the incentives.

Looking at the each state’s pay for its governor and coaches

After 2007, his contract includes upgrade provisions. 10 wins in a season means Miles must get at least the fifth-highest salary in the Southeastern Conference (1.8 million), a national championship means he must be at least the third-highest paid coach in college football (that would be $3.4 million).

    Michigan pays Carr $1.45 million.

He did have one of those in his 1st 2 years and then it was restructured during this offseason after the Sugar Bowl beatdown of ND.

Would LSU even consider Pelini as a HC? considering he may not be as good with dealing with recruiting? I had wondered a bit about Crowton IF his season is very successful; but that might be a slap on the face for Pelini, someone who has done a stellar job with the defense here. I doubt if Miles would leave (after 3 seasons?); that would be my guess.

Unintelligent...or just uninformed. Might have been right after the 2005 Tennessee game, but increasingly less so since.
