Correct but that is usually the only coach in the Big12 who has his number, had he won it last year he would have been in the BCS... he is a good coach, just f cks up sometimes in big games... jeez guys crucify me for appreciating his accomplishments... that being said Les Miles is the future of LSU and I have a feeling next year he will be going to the ROSE BOWL.
I want a loyal coach as well but if he can't win the "big" game....I think we would need to move on.....Brown benefits from being in Texas at the biggest school in the state.....yet still can't win the Conference Title? He needs to stop being so damn loyal to his OC, the ex-Tulame coach, and get someone new in there.
Plus, he usually doesn't win the bowl games, he won the Rose bowl this year, but look back at their string of Holiday Bowls. Didn't they lose to Washington State last year?
I think INCLUDING INCENTIVES, his contract can be worth $2 mill. He was getting 1.5 at OSU, so I can't see him coming here for less than that, and we know Skip isn't going to pay 2.3 mil to start. I'd imagine that he's in the 1.75-1.8 million dollar range, base salary with a 200K bonus for SEC title, etc. Whatever the contract is, it's a pretty safe bet that he'll be taken care of and appropriately paid.
You saw OU last night. Mack Brown just can't seem to beat OU no matter how hard he tries or what talent he has. And he does have the top talent in the State of Texas.
I can't believe what I'm reading from some fans. Does anyone here want to trade our NC and 2 SEC titles in 5 years for a loyal coach who won 8 or 9 games per year and no titles during last 5 years? Please tell me this is a joke...
