Plus, the Trojans get screwed by losing Bumpus to WSU when he may have come aboard if he knew Williams was leaving early.
Williams has mad, mad skills, but why come out now? This is a pretty deep WR draft, though I imagine he'll end up one of the top 3 WRs taken (behind Fitzgerald and Roy Williams). I'd think he'd have a better chance of being a top 3 pick overall in 2005.
Well. contrary to my previous statement, I just found out Mike Williams is in fact as fast as, if not faster than, Larry Fitzgerald. This changes the dynamic of his status in my mind. He's just as good catching the ball, running with the ball, and running routes as Larry - if he is faster then that is a major factor (and he is taller). I still like Larry's no-gamble work ethic (dad is an nfl coach, and he grew up around an NFL team)...but Mike could jump ahead if a certain Bay Area team with aging WRs thinks it can take a local star, with top talent
